Dwayne Haskins is ‘looking forward to the future' and his team's next name

Dwayne Haskins played his rookie season for the Redskins. His next year, though, and every one after that, will come under a different name.

That's now real after Washington's Monday announcement, in which they said they're hoping to come up with "a new name and design approach" that will last "for the next 100 years."

What they ultimately choose to proceed as should be known in the coming days. Regardless, what they were previously known as since the 1930s is now largely finished.

Soon after the news came out, Haskins had a chance to offer his thoughts on the matter with this tweet:

That's a solid stance for the QB to take, and one a large chunk of the fan base will agree with, too.

This will be a tough day for many supporters of the franchise, and Haskins, who grew up in the area, can relate to that. But at the same time, his focus is on 2020 and beyond and where his team is heading.

For someone trying to further establish himself as a leader, that's the right way to handle a very complicated situation.
