Blue Jays to play games in Buffalo, not Baltimore, this season

The Orioles reportedly won't have to share Camden Yards this year.

The Blue Jays will play their home games in Buffalo, at the site of their Triple-A affiliate, for the 2020 season, the team announced on Friday. The Orioles won't have a stadium partner.

After the Canadian government told the Blue Jays they could not play home games at Rogers Centre this year, the Jays spent the last week looking for a new home.

For a while, reports surfaced that Camden Yards in Baltimore could be a suitable fit for the Blue Jays. Maryland's coronavirus numbers, as well as the proximity to other opponents on the Jays' schedule, were appealing. Now, though, the Blue Jays won't have to go far from home as they'll play their home games near the U.S. and Canadian border in Buffalo.

The Orioles will head to Buffalo to face the Blue Jays from Aug. 28-31 for a four-game set, then head back to New York for a three-game set to end the season from Sept. 25-27.
