B-Mitch: Troy Apke is playing like 'he has cement in his shoes' originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
Troy Apke impressed the Washington Football Team coaches during training camp and earned a starting spot.
Through two games so far this season, however, his performance has not been on par with the increased playing time. Things looked particularly bad on Sunday on one deep ball from Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray to wideout Andy Isabella.
it's hard to truly assign blame for secondary miscues as communication can falter and coverages are often built to disguise. But one way or another, Isabela ran right past Apke.

After the game Washington Football legend Brian Mitchell opened up about Apke.
"When you look at the defensive side of the ball, I think Troy Apke has cement in his shoes because he gets beat every time, always stuck in one spot with people running over the top," Mitchell said on Washington Football Postgame Live on NBC Sports Washington.
The comment hits an accurate tone, and despite Apke's 10 tackles in Washington's first two games the struggles have been obvious, too. Rookie Kamren Curl seems primed for more playing time -- some a direct result of Apke's poor performance so far.
