National League GM: “I Hope Go Down In Flames.”

Apparently, it's "Quote Anonymous Baseball People Regarding Their Feelings About The Washington Nationals Week" and nobody told me.

After another poor outing by a Washington starting pitcher Wednesday, it seems that some general managers around Major League Baseball who vehemently disagree with the Nats' decision to shut down Stephen Strasburg are having a blast piling on, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Here is a sampling:

"If we don't win the World Series, I don't care who does," one general manager told USA TODAY Sports, "as long as it's not those guys.

"They don't deserve to win it. Not after what they did."

Said a National League GM: "I hope they go down in flames. I hope it takes another 79 years before they get back to the playoffs. That's how strongly I feel about it."

I think somebody ignited their Natitude incorrectly (points conspicuously at anonymous "National League GM," if that is his real name, WHICH IT ISN'T).

I never thought I would see the day that the Nationals would be called "the most-hated team in the game." At least, not until the Lerners decided to add navy pinstripes to their uniforms in 2022.

Seriously, though, with Washington down 2-1 and facing elimination Thursday, these anonymous GMs might get exactly what they want by day's end.
