The D.C. Armory is hosting the "Battle at the Nation's Capital" Saturday night, the first all-pro mixed martial arts event District Combat Productions has staged in Washington.
Among the 16 fighters are Alexandria's Taylor Dixon, a winner of two amateur titles; Muay Thai boxer and Howard University grad James "The Professor" Cook; U.S. Army Military Police Officer Ron Foster, of Rockville's Yamasaki Academy; and Ring of Combat Lightweight Tournament Champion James "Binky" Jones, of Baltimore.
Highlighted fights include Zac "The Red Devil" George (15-3), of Team Quest, against fight to the finish veteran Rick Screeton, of LA Boxing, and Ultimate Fighter Season 7 participant Paul Bradley (8-0) against newcomer Rafael Sapo, of Team Renzo Gracie.
The event starts at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $30 to $175.
