Ivanka Trump met with D.C. Councilman Jack Evans Monday to discuss the new hotel at the Old Post Office building at 12th and Pennsylvania avenues in Northwest.
Ivanka's father, Donald, plans to convert the District's second-largest structure, which dates to the late 19th century, into a 250-room luxury hotel.
The General Services Administration is negotiating the deal, and as chairman of the D.C. Council Finance Committee, Evans will oversee any part of the federal deal involving taxes and development.
