During a natural disaster, keeping the public safe is the No. 1 priority for elected officials. To that end, some District leaders took to Twitter to keep their constituents informed.

Politicians in the District often cite the proliferation of cranes as a barometer for economic development. After news spread of the dramatic skyscraper crane collapse in New York City, Mayor Vince Gray sought to put local minds at ease.
