ABC’s loss is NBC’s gain.
NBC will broadcast “The Billboard Music Awards” in 2018 in a multi-year deal with Dick Clark Productions, the network announced Tuesday.
“Bringing together the ‘Billboard Music Awards’ and NBC is a perfect partnership,” said dick clark productions president Mike Mahan. “We believe that pairing NBC’s enormous music and TV platform with the authority and legacy of the ‘Billboard Music Awards’ will be an extraordinarily powerful combination. We couldn’t be more excited.”
The network, which is home to “The Voice” and “America’s Got Talent” nabbed the music focused award show from ABC, where it aired for seven years.
“Billboard” joins the “Golden Globes” as the second award show produced by Dick Clark Productions to appear on the network.
