Woman Dead After Possible Road Rage in Fairfax County Identified

Police say something violent happened to the 21-year-old woman after she got out of her car

A woman who died after a possible road rage incident in Fairfax County, Va., has been identified.

Police say Shelinda Delores Arrington, 21, got into a confrontation Friday morning with someone in a black Chevrolet SUV in the 7100 block of Harrison Lane in Hybla Valley.  After she got out of her car something violent happened that caused her death, according to investigators.

β€œIt’s possible she was struck by the other car,” Fairfax County police Officer Bud Walker said. β€œIt’s possible she was struck by another person. Those are the questions that our detectives are looking in to.”

The black SUV did not remain at the scene. Police have interviewed a man driving another SUV who pulled over at the scene. Investigators spent hours working the scene.

Detectives are asking for the public's help to be on the lookout for a dark colored SUV with unknown, temporary tags. The vehicle may or may not be a a Chevrolet, investigators say.
