Woman Charged With DUI After Wrong-Way Trip on I-270

FREDERICK, Md. -- Police charged a woman was charged with driving under the influence Thursday morning after allegedly driving the wrong way on Interstate 270 in Frederick, causing multiple crashes, the Frederick News-Post reported.

At about 2 a.m., a southbound Nissan Altima in the northbound lanes of U.S. 15 was reported at Rosemont Avenue, state police said. It apparently caused a tractor-trailer to swerve as it continued on to the wrong lanes of I-270, the News-Post reported.

Traveling south in the northbound lanes, the Nissan caused a BMW to land on its side near Baker Valley Road, the News-Post reported. One person was treated at the scene.

About a mile and a half later, the Nissan crashed with a Mazda, the News-Post reported. No serious injuries were reported.

A state trooper gave the driver of the Nissan a field sobriety test and arrested her, the News-Post reported.
