Washington QBs Fitzpatrick, Heinicke in Attendance at the Masters

Fitzpatrick, Heinicke latest stars in attendance at the Masters originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Whenever Ryan Fitzpatrick goes anywhere, the coolness level of that event immediately skyrockets. The Masters is already cool, but thanks to the Washington Football Team quarterback stepping into the attendance circle, it just got a bit cooler.

‘A tradition like no other’ is now fully underway in the historic links of Augusta, Georgia, and after the first round, Englishman Justin Rose leads the way at seven under par. On Friday Ryan Fitzpatrick was spotted around the course, and with his yeti hat, colorful neon short-sleeve and trademark beard, he’s hard to miss.

‘Fitzmagic’ arrived at the Augusta course after signing a one-year, $10 million deal with the Burgundy and Gold this offseason. According to Washington head coach Ron Rivera, Fitzpatrick will begin training camp as QB1, but will have to earn the starting role for week one.

Fitzpatrick's main competition is teammate Taylor Heinicke, who just so happens to be at the Masters, as well as he posted a picture of his attendance pass to his Instagram story.

After an impressive outing in Washington’s NFC Wild Card game against the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Heinicke earned himself a two-year, $8.75 million deal with the team.

Enjoying their offseason time with some Georgia golf, the two D.C. signal-callers join a who's who of sports stars in attendance for this year’s competition. Kansas City Chiefs superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were at Augusta on Thursday, along with Clemson alum and presumed no. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence.

Still, Fitzpatrick probably looks the coolest out of all of them, as usual.
