Police believe a teenager could be behind last week's assault of a jogger on a trail in Malcolm King Park.
The 17-year-old victim told police she was jogging on the trail in the woods of Malcolm King Park on Tuesday when the male suspect, estimated to be between 15 and 19 years old, approached her from behind.
Police say the suspect pulled out a knife and tried to pull the girl to the ground. The victim was able to get away following a physical altercation with the suspect.
"A lot of people are out with their children at that time ... he's a threat to the public, to women," Gaithersburg resident Cassandra Overking said.
Police have released a composite sketch of the the suspect. He is described as standing 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, khaki pants and a black backpack.
Police recommend joggers who insist on wearing headphones only use them on one ear, so they can be more aware of their surroundings.
Anyone with information about this incident should call police at 301-258-6400.
