The Fourth of July weekend is known as a time of sun and celebration for most Americans, but the Washington Regional Alcohol Program -- or WRAP -- says it's also a time to be especially cautious about drunk drivers.
Kurt Erickson, executive director of the program, wants D.C. area residents to remember that SoberRide will be available from 10 p.m. Monday until 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Those of legal drinking age can receive a free ride of up to $30 dollars by calling SoberRide at 1-800-200-TAXI (800-200-8294).
Last Independence Day, nearly 400 area revelers used SoberRide – that was a 60 percent increase over the previous year.
