One person was left hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following an accident early Tuesday morning in Frederick County, Md., troopers say.
Frederick Barrack Troopers responded to a personal injury collision on Route 28 between Route 85 and New Design Road at 5:15 a.m.
A sport utility vehicle with one occupant left the roadway and struck an embankment, investigators say.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It is unknown why the vehicle left the roadway. Investigators also do not know if the injuries sustained by the driver were a result of the collision or a pre-existing medical condition.
The name of the driver has not been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
