Shots Possibly Fired at Police in Prince George’s County

Prince George's County Police are investigating whether someone fired shots in officers’ direction behind the District 4 police station in Oxon Hill, Maryland, last week.

As officers switched from their police cruisers to their personal cars during a shift change after midnight Oct. 1, someone may have fired shots from the tree line.

One officer heard a bullet go by his ear but didn’t hear a shot fired, raising concerns of possible sniper fire.

But a search of the area by air and ground, and with the aid of K-9 and D.C. police, found no gunman. Further investigation uncovered no damages and no one was injured.

Police are looking in to security at the station and monitoring the woods behind it.

From the air, police are monitoring wooded areas near other stations for activity.
