The family of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin will attend a service to honor their loved one Wednesday night in D.C.
Professional athletes, entertainers, community leaders, policy makers and advocates are expected to attend the service happening from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Shadow Room on K Street in northwest Washington.
A neighborhood watch volunteer, 28-year-old George Zimmerman, is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing Martin. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty and is out on bond.
The shooting happened February 26 in a gated community in Sanford, Fla.
