Passengers experienced lengthy delays and overcrowding on Metro's Red Line today.
Some passengers took to Twitter to post photos and express their frustration.
WMATA said that the problem was a combination of a signal failure at Silver Spring and then a malfunctioning train at NoMa-Gallaudet.
Around 5:30 p.m., WMATA reported that normal service has resumed. However, the delays can take a long time to resolve.
