Police: Naked, Intoxicated Teen Breaks Into Stafford Home, Frightens Family

The homeowner fired a shot into the ground to try to get the teen to leave, but even that couldn't deter the intoxicated suspect

A family was startled early Thursday morning when a naked teenager kicked in a window at their Stafford, Virginia, home and fell asleep on the living room couch - despite their attempts to deter the intoxicated intruder, police say.

The 16-year-old suspect woke up the family when he knocked on the door of their home on Pierce Court and repeatedly yelled for someone to let him in, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.

When the homeowners opened a window and told the teen to leave the property, he started kicking the door and nearby window, according to the sheriff's office.

One homeowner grabbed his gun and fired a shot into the ground to try to get the suspect to leave, but the teen continued kicking the window and eventually got into the basement of the home, police said.

The homeowner then used bedroom furniture to barricade his family inside their bedroom until deputies arrived.

Deputies set up a perimeter and got the homeowners and their baby out of the home.

They then found the teen asleep on the living room couch naked and wrapped in a blanket, police said. Deputies turned him over to his parents' custody.

The sheriff's office says it is filing for multiple charges against the teen, including unlawful entry, minor in possession of alcohol and vandalism.
