Prince George's County police say a man who was struck by a dump truck while working at a scrap metal yard Thursday has died.
Officers were called to the recycling facility on Kenilworth Avenue in Capitol Heights at about 10 a..m. Thursday for a report of a pedestrian struck. Police spokesman Officer Harry Bond said the employee was struck by a dump truck backing up on company grounds.
According to Bond, the man driving the truck didn't see his co-worker behind the vehicle. The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.
The incident appears to be an accident, and police do not suspect foul play.
The vicitm's identitiy has not been released.
