A 37-year-old man is accused of stalking after he reportedly approached three teenage girls in his red pickup truck and told them to get inside -- in two separate occasions on the same day.
Joseph D. Briganti was arrested Wednesday after he was identified as a suspect in the "red truck" incidents from last week, Manassas City police said.
Around 8:40 p.m. June 11 police said the driver of a red pickup truck stopped near two teenage girls, a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old, and yelled at them to get in his vehicle. The girls were walking in the area of Clover Hill Road and Godwin Drive; they were able to run to a nearby home unharmed.
A couple hours before, police said the same driver slowed down beside a 16-year-old girl who was running on Godwin Dive.
The driver asked through the window if she needed a ride and when the girl changed directions, she noticed the truck following her. The victim then stopped in a witness-rich environment where the driver pulled up and told her to get in his truck; she was able to escape and run home unharmed.
