WASHINGTON -- More than 100 people have signed an online petition asking for the removal of John Catoe as Metro's general manager after a summer of tragedy and controversy.
The petition claims Catoe has not done enough to make safety a priority in the wake of the June train collision that killed nine and injured dozens.
The petition says current management can't safely run the system and asks for a manager with "the proper experience managing complex, safety-oriented organizations."
Metro spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein responded by telling WUSA that the petition isn't worth a response.
When asked about his future, Catoe has said he's focusing on the crash investigation.
