Remember that time when the Washington Nationals lost five straight? Yeah, neither do I.
Since that skid August 22-28, the Nats are 6-1, the most recent win being a 11-5 drubbing of the Chicago Cubs Tuesday at Nationals Park.
Washington's offense was the key Tuesday; five different players hit six home runs (Adam LaRoche hit two, giving him four in as many games), which matched a franchise record (2005-present, which they set May 20, 2011, in a 17-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles) and tied the league lead for most home runs hit by one team in a game this season.
The six homers were also the most that any team from Washington, D.C. has ever hit in Washington, D.C.; that includes games at Griffith Stadium, RFK Stadium and Nationals Park.
Take a look at all six blasts here. if anything else, four minutes worth of a submarine horn should wake you up this morning.
