Metro General Manager Richard Sarles said the partnership with Google will give customers an easier way to access transit information. He said there will be a seamless network to take riders from bus lines to Metro to MARC trains and Amtrak.
Google already had partnered with many other transit agencies, but Metro had been a holdout.
Beyond Metro, Google Transit carries schedules and routes for bus lines, including Montgomery County's Ride On bus, the D.C. Circulator and Loudoun County Transit. The service is also available on mobile phones.
