Metrorail service was suspended on the Orange Line between Stadium Armory and Cheverly after a person was struck by a train at Minnesota Avenue in Northeast D.C. Friday evening, Metro said.
Service has since been restored.
A man appears to have intentionally placed himself in front of the train, according to Metro Transit Police.
D.C. Fire and EMS freed the man from beneath the train and took him to a hospital with critical injuries.
