A man used hot coffee to pull off a robbery at an Arlington, Va., hotel Tuesday night.
About 9:45 p.m. a man threw hot coffee on the front desk attendant at a hotel in the 2400 block of South Glebe Road, police said. He then jumped the counter and took a cash drawer and a cellphone. There was about $450 in the cash drawer.
The man fled in a white sedan. A search involving K-9 and a Park Police helicopter did not find the man.
The culprit was described as a black man standing 6-feet tall and 170 pounds and wearing a black hat, reading glasses, black athletic jacket, white athletic shorts and white shoes.
There’s no word on the hotel attendant’s condition.
