Investigators are asking for the public's help to find out who struck and killed a 41-year-old man while he was crossing a road in Spotsylvania, Virginia, on Saturday, authorities say.
A vehicle struck Deven Morgan as he crossed the eastbound lanes of Courthouse Road near the Four Mile Fork shopping center in Fredericksburg about 11 p.m., the Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said.
Morgan had just left a concert at the Hard Times Cafe and Cue at the shopping center.
A woman driving nearby stopped to help after seeing something lying in the road. She and another good Samaritan who stopped called 911.
Morgan had life-threatening injuries and medics took him to a hospital, where he died a short time later.
A friend of Morgan told News4 he was a father and had recently started a new job as a heavy equipment operator.
The sheriff's office says anyone who was driving through that area Saturday about 11 p.m. should call 1-800-928-5822 or 1-540-582-5822 or submit a tip online at p3tips.com or spotsylvaniacrimesolvers.org.
