Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Girl, 5, in Rockville Library Arrested

Montgomery County police say they've caught the man who sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl at the Rockville Memorial Library.

Keelan Sternklar, 26, was arrested Thursday and charged with third-degree sexual offense and second-degree assault.

The assault happened Saturday, shortly before the library was scheduled to close at 6 p.m. According to police, Sternklar walked up to the little girl in the children's section, pulled down her pants and touched her inappropriately.

The little girl screamed and ran to her parents, who called police.

On Thursday, an officer saw a man that matched the description of the suspect inside a coffee shop about one block from the library. A few hours later, police arrested Sternklar at a homeless shelter in Derwood.

During an interview, Sternklar told police that he was in the library at the time of the incident.

Bond information for Sternklar has not been released.
