L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station has re-opened, after being closed this morning due to reports of heavy smoke coming from the station.
Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates said the smoke resulted after an insulator on one of the tracks caught fire or an object came in contact with the insulator. No one was injured.
The D.C. Fire Department, meanwhile, said it found "no hazardous condition," DCist reported.
Service on the Yellow, Green, Orange and Blue Metro lines was disrupted as trains were being allowed to pass through L'Enfant Station, but not allowed to stop there, for approximately 90 minutes Saturday morning.
