A Gaithersberg, Maryland, karate teacher accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl was charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor and one count of fourth-degree sex offense, police said.
The victim reported the abuse to Montgomery County police on June 29, and detectives investigated inappropriate touching that took place during class lessons between January and June, police said.
Detectives got a warrant for Frank Yul Pugarita, 54, and arrested him Monday. Pugarita is being held without bond, police said.
Pugarita owns Pugarita Karate-Do, a karate studio at 8945 North Westland Drive. He has owned the studio for about 10 years.
