A Bethesda office building was evacuated Wednesday morning after a report of a Freon leak.
Several people became sick in the incident, which began at about 9:30 a.m. at the building located in the 6900 block of Arlington Road. Montgomery County Fire Rescue units entered the building and evacuated the rest of the building.
Officials said five pounds of Freon were released while an air conditioner was undergoing maintenance.
Emergency officials evaluated 18 people who said they reported dizziness, burning eyes and shortness of breath.
The building was aired out and people were let back in.
