A 12-year-old New York boy at the center of a legal battle at Children's National Medical Center in Washington has died.
Motl Brody had a severe form of brain cancer. Doctors declared him brain dead but his family refused to take him off ventilators citing religious beliefs.
A lawyer for Brody's family said Brody's heart stopped beating and he died Saturday.
Brody had been kept alive with the use of ventilators for a little more than six months before he died.
