Victims of Triple Fatal Crash in Charles County Mourned by Friends and Family

Three friends died and four were hospitalized in Charles County, Maryland, Tuesday afternoon after an SVU crashed into a dump truck.

Waldorf residents Theresa Robinson, 44, and Marcus Griffin, 45, died in the crash, as well as 24-year-old Kayle Bodensteiner of Baltimore.

An SVU collided with a dump truck at the intersection of Maryland Route 234 and Penns Hill Road Monday just before 3 p.m.

Theresa Robinson died on the eve of her 19th anniversary with her husband Kenny Robinson, and she worked as a loving caregiver.

"She looked after patients like they were her family," he said.

Griffin also was like family to the Robinsons. He and Theresa Robinson had been friends since grade school.

Kayle Bodensteiner was friends with Dajauana Jenkins who, along with Taraca Graham, survived the crash.

Theresa Robinson’s sister, Sharonda Scriber, recalled the last time she and her sister spoke, describing her sister as the glue that held the family together.

"The last thing she talked about was getting all her family, her cousins, all of us, and just getting together to make amends," Scriber cried out emotionally.

The family had a long-awaited excursion to the Caribbean planned, too.

Robinson’s husband will hold onto two decades worth of memories, and her sister will cherish an unexpected Mother’s Day gift.

"My daughter bought me a guardian angel Alex & Ani bracelet," Scriber said through tears. "Nothing that was God prepared me to let me know I got a guardian angel up there now."

The driver of the dump truck, 64-year-old William Demarr, and a passenger were also hospitalized.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
