If you were worried about how your out-of-town friends are managing to land their private planes en route to inauguration, fear no more.
Just send them to Virginia.
Dulles International Airport will close one runway to commercial flights, a spokesperson has confirmed to News4. That runway will be reserved for private planes begining Sunday night. It will reopen to all traffic at some point Tuesday.
The plan will not impact normal operations, the spokesperson said.
Inaugural planners have said that crowds are expected to be smaller Monday than they were four years ago, and more of those planning to attend live locally -- information indicated by a sharp jump in requests for tickets from people who live in the D.C. area.
