A Metropolitan Police captain is accused of assaulting his wife in the back of a moving car. Capt. Lamar West was arrested Sept. 3 and is charged with second degree assault.
According to court records, West and his wife were arguing in the back seat when he began choking her around 3 a.m. Monday in Upper Marlboro.
The driver stopped, and another passenger pulled West out of the back seat, holding him down until police arrived.
West's status with D.C. police is unknown at this time.
