D.C. firefighters showed their frustration over a proposed schedule change by walking out during a meeting with D.C. Fire Chief Ken Ellerbe.
It happened Tuesday night as Ellerbe ended his βState of the Departmentβ speech and prepared to take questions.
One firefighter called the others to attention, ordered an about face, and dismissed them.
The chief proposed to change firefighter shifts from 24 hours to 12 hours. He said it will save the city tens of millions of dollars a year.
