Cherry Blossom Cameras Give Live Look at Famed Trees

If you can't make it to the Tidal Basin this year, there's another way you can check out D.C.'s famed cherry blossoms.

EarthCam and the National Park Service (NPS) have partnered together to provide a livestream of the cherry blossom trees at the Tidal Basin and Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial.

The cameras will stream a view of the trees 24/7.

The NPS says the cherry trees' peak bloom is expected between April 11 and 14. Peak bloom is considered to occur when 70 percent of the Yoshino cherry trees along the Tidal Basin are in bloom.

This year marks the 103rd anniversary of the gift of the cherry blossom trees from Japan as a symbol of friendship with the United States.
