A school in D.C. is among the 55 colleges and universities that are being investigated over their handling of sexual abuse complaints under Title IX.
The Catholic University of America is on the list of universities released Thursday by the Education Department. The disclosure of the schools under investigation comes as the Obama administration tries to bring more transparency to the handling of sexual assault on campuses.
A statement from Catholic says the probe centers on the investigation and adjudication of a reported assault in December 2012.
The university says it is cooperating fully with investigators.
