ATM Skimmers Found at 3 7-Elevens in Bowie

An ATM technician found skimmers at machines at three 7-Elevens in Bowie, Maryland, last week, police said.

Police responding to a report of an ATM that had been tampered with at the store at 6860 Racetrack Road Thursday were told by the service technician that the ATM was rigged with a camera above the PIN pad and a scanning device from the credit card slot.

The technician also found skimming devices at the 7-Elevens at 3570 Crain Highway and 15700 Mount Oak Road, police said.

It’s unknown how long the devices were in place.

Police warned anyone who may have used the ATMs to check their bank activity. Victims should make a report with Bowie Police by calling 301-352-1200.
