Another DC Media Figure Charged With Child Porn

WASHINGTON -- A former National Public Radio editor is the second D.C. media figure to be charged with possession of child pornography this month, the Smoking Gun reported.

David Malakoff was charged in an information filed Tuesday. He was NPR's science editor and an on-air correspondent until June.

Malakoff possessed the illegal material between and April and June, according to the information. It did not offer any more specifics.

Malakoff, who lives in Alexandria but worked at NPR's office in D.C., was charged in U.S. District Court in D.C., the Smoking Gun reported.

A Fox News producer was charged with child porn violations earlier this month.
