Alexandria Elementary School Closes After Possible Norovirus Outbreak

SSchool closed so a professional cleaning crew can disinfect the entire buidling

An Alexandria elementary school is closed Friday, after more than 200 students and staff fell ill due to possible norovirus.

A letter was sent home to parents of John Adams Elementary School students Thursday, after more than 200 students and about 30 staff members became sick to their stomachs during the past couple of days.

Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea.

The school closed down so a professional cleaning crew can disinfect the entire buidling.

School officials tell News4 parents should not let their children go to school Monday if they're still exhibiting symptoms Sunday night.
