Woman Visited Va. Shopping Center Shortly Before Body Found

A woman whose body was found in a car just after 3:30 p.m. Sunday had visited a business in the Fairfax Plaza shopping center at about 3 p.m. that day, police said.

Vanessa Pham, 19, appeared to be fine at the shopping center, police said.

Pham was found stabbed to death in a car in a ditch along Arlington Boulevard in Annandale after police received a report of a vehicle crash. But her injuries were inconsistent with the crash, and her death was ruled a homicide.

Pham had just finished her freshman year at Savannah College of Art.

Investigators went back to the crash scene Friday to search for evidence.
