New Details Released in Deadly 6-Car Crash

Woman killed when another car crossed median

    One woman was killed in a car crash that involved at least six vehicles in Rockville, Md., Tuesday night.

    Police are investigating a crash that left one woman dead.

    It happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday night on Rockville Pike, near Nicholson Lane in Rockville.

    Investigators say a Honda Civic driven by 27-year-old Jeffrey Nunez of Rockville was going north when it hit the median, went airborne, and landed on top of a Toyota Camry.  The car's driver, identified as 18-year-old Ngoc Xuan Thi Lai of Gaithersburg, died at the scene. 

    Nunez and a passenger in the Camry were also hurt. 

    Four other cars were also hit during the crash, but no one else was hurt. 

    Police say they're still not sure what caused the car to cross the median.  Detectives would like anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the crash to call them at (301)840-2435.
