Damaging wind is the biggest threat. Gusts could reach 70 mph. Lime-size hail and frequent lightning are also possible, the NWS says. Tornado chances cannot be ruled out, especially further north of D.C. in Maryland, even as Howard County deals with damage from two separate tornadoes in the past two weeks.

After 10 p.m., the skies are expected to rapidly clear out and a cold front settles in.

Monday stays dry but temperatures drop off, with a high of 72 degrees. There's a chance for storms every day between Tuesday and next weekend.
