Two Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

Police said two people were killed Friday evening in Howard County, Md. after a car ran into a tree.

Police say the crash occurred about 7 p.m. Friday when the driver of a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southwest on Daisy Road in Woodbine, Md., when the vehicle left the road, hitting a tree. The driver and passenger both died.

Police say both were wearing their seatbelts and the primary cause of the crash appears to be excessive speed.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as John Reuben Graybeal, 22, of Woodbine, Md., and his passenger as Leah Christine Mcelgunn, 20, of Catonsville, Md.
