Police in the District have made an arrest in one of two separate fatal shootings that happened about two hours apart early Saturday morning.

D.C. Police announced Saturday afternoon that Cedric Spicer, 24, of Northwest had been arrested and charged with Murder One while Armed in the death of Joseph Hardin, 30, of Alexandria, Va.

Investigators say that Hardin was shot at around 1:30 a.m. in the 1900 block of 9th Street Northwest, just blocks from the Shaw Metro Station. Residents tell News4’s Derrick Ward they heard more than 10 shots fired. When police arrived they found Hardin shot in the head. Police tell News4 that the shooting stemmed from an ealier altercation inside the 1920 DC nightclub and lounge, which carried on into the street.

Police are still looking for a suspect in Saturday morning's second shooting, which happened in the 300 block of Livingston Terrace in Southeast at around 3:15 a.m. Police have identified the victim of that shooting as Damon Luke Brown, 49, of Ashburn, Va. That case is also being investigated as a homicide. There are no details however on what the gunman may have looked like or what led to the shooting.
