An overturned tractor trailer on Route 50 eastbound snarled early morning traffic near Mitchellville in Prince George’s County.
Maryland State Police responded to the scene, at Lottsford Vista Road and Route 50 at 3:41 a.m. Monday morning.
Three vehicles were involved in the wreck, two cars and a tractor-trailer truck.
All three drivers have been transported to area hospitals for injuries. The extent of the injuries are not known at this time.
A crew managed to right the cab portion of the truck, but the trailer became detached and caused delays in the cleanup.
Initially, all eastbound lanes on Route 50 in the area of Lottsford Vista Road were closed to traffic.
As of 7 a.m., the accident cleanup was almost complete, but drivers should expect residual delays in both directions.
