Less than 24 hours after a 71-year-old pipe broke near Suitland High School, business is back as usual in time for the weekend.
More than 150 customers in the area were without water when the pipe broke late Wednesday night. Officials announced it was fixed just before 7 p.m. Thursday.
The break was located on Silver Hill Road at Brooks Drive and Royal Plaza Drive, close to Suitland High School and Suitland Junior High School. Officials had initially feared those two schools could be affected by the water main break, but crews were able to make enough repairs to the main to provide water.
