Plane With Dead Passenger Diverted to Va. Airport

An American Airlines flight was diverted to Virginia after a male passenger died on board.

WVEC-TV reported that the New York-to-Miami flight landed at Norfolk International Airport around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The 73-year-old passenger had complained he wasn't feeling well about 20 minutes after the flight took off from John F. Kennedy International Airport. Crew members' efforts to resuscitate him
were unsuccessful.

The state medical examiner's office will determine what caused his death. Officials declined to release the man's name, but said he was a Miami resident.

Passengers were taken off the plane while police investigated and it was determined the person died of natural causes.
