Authorities closed the road at 17th Street and Constitution Avenue in Northwest Thursday night after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
A woman became pinned under a van and suffered critical injuries. She was struck while crossing 17th Street just south of Constitution.
As of about 9:30 p.m., Constitution was expected to remain closed in the area several more hours.
