As the summer travel season began this week, TripAdvisor surveyed more than 2,500 travelers and learned that 89% are planning to take a summer vacation this year and Ocean City, Maryland was named one of the top summer travel destinations.
According to the survey, 9% of respondents cited last winter’s harsh weather and polar vortex as inspirations for their summer vacations. With an improved economy, 36% of travelers plan to spend more on their leisure summer travel in 2014 than last year. Based on the survey results their plans include:
